Ski and snowboard
The Jochpass is located directly on the slopes of the Engelberg-Titlis ski area. Early risers often find pristine slopes as a reward. In general, Engelberg is considered a ski resort for more demanding/advanced skiers. However, beginners also get their money's worth. In addition, Engelberg is also known in many places as a freeride paradise, as most of the downhill runs are accessible by ski lift. Snowshoeing
There are two official snowshoe routes that are easily accessible from the Jochpass. The shorter of the two routes goes around Trübsee and takes about 1 hour. The Gerschnialp-Untertrübsee route, which is a little further away, takes about 2.5 hours. It is also possible to rent snowshoes at the gondula station in Engelberg. Intersport.
Fishing
Lake Engstlen at 1851 m above sea level is a natural reservoir on nearby Engstlenalp (BE). It can be reached on foot (1 hour) or by chairlift (15 minutes). As a mountain lake rich in fish, it is famous for ice fishing not only in summer but also in winter.
Via ferrata Graustock
The Jochpass is an ideal starting point for the via ferrata Graustock, which is open around the end of June to around the beginning of October. The moderately difficult tour is only recommended for sure-footed via ferrata climbers. The ascent from the Jochpass takes about 3 hours and the descent, which leads back to the Jochpass, 1.5 hours. Via ferrata Tällistock
The Tällihütte is located in the Gadmental. The fastest and easiest way to reach it is by taking the Tälli cable car. After a one-hour ascent you reach the via ferrata Tällistock. It is the first via ferrata in Switzerland and about 600m long. The route leads over rock steps, ladders, grassy ledges and narrow rock bands. After the 3-hour ascent, you will have a beautiful view over the Melchsee, Tannsee, Engstlensee to the Jochpass on one side and the Gadmental on the other side. The descent to Engstlenalp leads you over some scree fields at the beginning and takes about 2 to 3 hours. With the chairlift you float up to the Bärhuis Jochpass where a cool, well-deserved aperitif awaits you. Strengthened by a delicious dinner and a good night's sleep, you will be ready for the next via ferrata, the Graustock.
Bike trails
The two trails that wind their way down from the Jochpass on both sides are always cherished and maintained. The "Flow-Trail", the easier of the two trails, leads from the Jochpass to Engstlenalp. The "Trudy Trail", for more experienced bikers, leads down to Trübsee. From both trails you can get directly to the chairlift station, so that an effortless repetition of the fun is guaranteed. For multiple use of the cable cars with your bike we recommend a bike day ticket for CHF 38.

Four-Lakes-Hike
The Four Lakes Hike is the route over the Jochpass along the four mountain lakes Trübsee, Engstlensee, Tannsee and Melchsee. From the middle/end of June until the end of September, the route is accessible from both sides, i.e. from the Melch valley as well as from the Engelberg valley. The practical thing about this hike is that, depending on your condition, you can take the train or chairlift. The only effort that cannot be avoided is the ascent from Engstlenalp to Tannalp, which takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
Show cheese dairy Engstlenalp
